I’m an organizational and leadership development consultant, facilitator, and expert trainer.
I have nearly fifteen years of experience working with mission-driven nonprofit organizations, numerous political campaigns
and candidates, and with influential groups and individuals working to empower women and girls across the country.
I am passionate about running effective organizations and building strong teams because it leads to greater impact.
I have led organizations through complex strategic planning processes, transformative culture change, and has helped to reorganize,
rebrand, and revise mission, vision, and values for nonprofits and other organizations. My talents are in training and facilitating and I have
facilitated numerous successful staff and board retreats and have trained hundreds of women across the country on critical leadership skills.
I have spent much of my career in several roles with Emerge America, an organization that recruits, trains, and provides a powerful
network for Democratic women running for office in twenty-two states (and counting). An alumna of the program, I went on become the
executive director of the Massachusetts affiliate, increasing the size and diversity of the classes and successfully designing and implementing
the first candidate training bootcamp program 2012, which is now replicated across the Emerge network. In 2013, I became the vice
president of the national organization and served for eight months as its interim president during its first major leadership transition.
In these roles, I supported the state affiliates and executive directors, cultivating and building their leadership skills to help them be
successful in their roles. I have planned and conducted new ED trainings and annual network-wide retreats and convenings. Most recently,
I served as senior advisor, helping to support current state affiliates and advise on the strategy for expansion into new states.
I am currently consulting with Emerge America to organize and conduct Regional Bootcamp trainings for women running for office all
across the country.
Before starting as the executive director of Emerge Massachusetts, I was the Manager of Recruitment and Community Partnerships at
Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, the largest and oldest mentoring organization in Greater Boston exclusively serving girls.
While at Big Sister, I managed all volunteer and child recruitment for the agency, developed a Diversity Council to recruit more women
of color, and created a thriving Alumnae Association.
I have worked on numerous political and issue campaigns and is a community organizer at heart. I am the former Co-President for the
Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women and chaired their Political Action Committee in 2010. I also chaired the
Progressive Democrats of Somerville for two years and where I helped lead the implementation of the strategic plan that was developed.
I am also an avid runner. Inspired by the strength and resilience of the runners who were impacted (and those we lost) at the 2013 Boston Marathon,
I began running. I trained for her first 5k in June of 2013 as a way to honor those who lives were forever changed and never stopped running.
I have completed eleven half-marathons (and counting) and am currently attempting a year-long run-streak in 2017.
I graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and recently completed my MBA at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate
School of Business in Orlando, Florida, with a certification in Leadership Development. I live in Somerville, Massachusetts with
my cat, Pumpkin.
